InSEED Is Weaving Social Fabric of Mizoram Through Its State Of Art Futsal Grounds

Picturesque land of Mizo people called Mizoram, the southernmost state among the seven sisters of India, nestled comfortably between Bangladesh and Myanmar is also among the least populous state of the country. Society is ideally cohesive under strong influence of the Presbyterian Church.

The last state elections saw an un precedented rise of the BJP from a mere 0.37 vote share to a massive 8% giving decisive power to MNF (Mizo National Front), the previous NDA (North East India Wing) alliance partner, as it made government in the relatively young state.

The enterprising youth equipped with global awareness strives to look over and beyond the essentially religious and conservative society. This stress of reason has thus breed chagrin amongst youth costing Lal Thanhawla his chair. Society needs new grounds to muster social relevance and thus needs to resuscitate the fading idea of collective sport in the region.

Sports Minister, Robert Romawia Royte under able leadership of CM, Zoramthanga is batting for revival of traditional sport of futsal in the 21 century Mizoram. This tremendous effort of the young minister is having far reaching impacts on the social fabric of the state. The clarity in vision of the state government is getting robust support from the central leadership to achieve this consonant of establishing collective sport in the state.

InSEED has had the opportunity to compliment the Mizo State Leadership in reestablishing “Futsal” grounds across Aizwal to begin with.
